Yukon Russet

In blind taste tests, Yukon Russet was selected as the better tasting RUSSET from a panel of 12 varieties. An extremely versatile variety that can be baked, boiled, mashed and roasted with excellent results.

“No butter required,” is commonly heard when consumers try Yukon Russet.  As a baked potato, the flavourful skin is crisp adding that “true potato” flavour.

FoodTrust Russet

A russeted skin, long in shape. It's flesh is white, dry, and mealy, and it is good for baking, mashing, French fries.  It is the most common type of potato. Our preference is the Goldrush or the Burbank.  

FoodTrust Red

Round or slightly oblong shape, red skinned potatoes can be white or yellow fleshed.  When cooked they have a waxy texture.  They generally hold their shape after cooking.  They are best for Roasting, salads, soups, and stews.

FoodTrust Yellow Flesh

Yellow varieties are round or oblong and can have a smooth or russeted skin.  The flesh is always yellow, and is usually not a dry texture but subtly sweet.

FoodTrust Round White

Round or oblong and always have a smooth to waxy skin. These varieties are good for salads, steaming, boiling, and frying because they hold their shape well after cooking.
